The actual status of coffee replanting on land second tenure in the central highlands
Currently, coffee production is facing a serious problem that is the coffee replanting issue. The survey results demonstrated that the main factor caused damages on coffee trees after replanting was Pratylenchus nematode. The density of Pratylenchus nematode was very high in failed coffee replanting fields (average of 304 vermiform/100g soil and 775 vermiform /5g root) compared with the successful coffee replanting gardens (average of 20.1 vermiform/100g soil and 16 vermiform/5g root). The rate of successful replanting was relatively low (62%) because of many effected factors. The main factors that effected to coffee replanting were technical tillage, soil pretreatment and rotation time (the coffee replanting will get more successful if rotation time takes longer). The density of Pratylenchus nematode in soil is also very important, when the population of nematodes is less than 200 vermiform/g soil and 100 vermiform/g root it is possible to replanting successfully.
