Results of some technical measures to increase productivity and quality for Ha Giang shan tea varieties when grown dispersedly in the highland
Native Ha Giang shan tea varieties have potential yield and good quality with pubescences, abundant internal components and substances content. Although individual productivity is high, but productivity of the whole population is low, mainly because of unselected tea varieties, extensive farming techniques, uneven field spacing and the failure of pruning - plucking and fertilizing techniques to meet the requirements of shan tea varieties in the production process. Research results of intercroping legumes (peanut, soybean) increases the productivity by 10.6 - 13.5%, as well as the nutrients of soil, especially humus content increased by 18%, and total nitrogen increased by 15%. Light and even pruning (combined with shaping canopy) creates higher shoot density and yield than traditional method (control model) from 13.5 to 33.5%, mechanical composition of material quality is better, therefore more productive.
