Tổng quan các tài liệu quốc tế cho thấy khả năng phát tán và tái sinh từ hạt, thân, cành, rễ cây bìm bìm đều tốt. Tuy nhiên, khi tiến hành các thí nghiệm nghiên cứu thực nghiệm thì thấy kết quả không hoàn toàn như vậy. Thân cây Bìm bìm có khả năng tái sinh thấp (2,22 - 8,89% đối với thí nghiệm chậu vại và 2,22 - 11,11% đối với thí nghiệm ngoài thực địa trong điều kiện đất ẩm ướt). Khả năng tái sinh từ cành thấp (0 - 6,67% đối với thí nghiệm chậu vại; 0 - 4,44% đối với thí nghiệm ngoài thực địa), rễ cây bìm bìm không có khả năng tái sinh; gốc cây Bìm bìm có khả năng tái sinh cao (100% với đường kính thân > 5 cm).

An overview of the international literature shows that the spreading and regenerating ability of Merremia seeds, stems, branches, roots is recorded to be good. However, when conducting research experiments, the results were not so entirely. The stems of Merremia spp. had low regeneration ability (2.22 - 8.89% for pot experiments and 2.22 - 11.11% for field experiments in wet soil conditions). Regeneration ability of branches was low (0 - 6.67% for pot experiments; 0 - 4.44% for field experiments). The roots of Merremia spp. were not able to regenerate; the stumps had high regeneration ability (100% with a stem diameter of > 5 cm).
