The survey results, selection of Shan tea plants have good characteristics in Mo Si San, Phong Tho, Lai Chau
The population of secular Shan tea trees of Mo Si San widely scattered in an area of 70 hectares with 3,000 trees. Tea trees interspersed with areas of young forest, jungle and recovery forest. Shan tea material of Mo Si San processing green tea, yellow tea for high quality. From secular Shan population has selected 10 promising trees, with the following main characteristics: Color dark green leaves, serrated level of moderate-to-many, bud and young leaves without hair, Tea tree height of 15 meters, body circumference > 60cm, weight of shoot (1 bud and 2 young leaves) varied from 0.86 to 1.17 gram. The yield of spring season varied from 1.65 to 2.41kg/tree. Tannin content varied from 30.65 to 35.41%, amino axit composition from 1.60 to 2.04%, content of extracts from 39.31 to 44.24%.
