In recent years, on the outskirts of Thanh Hoa city, the setting up models of a new countryside is being implemented. For field production, the linkage among 4 partners to set up a large demontration field is being carried out. The diversified cropping systems today are no longer appropriate. Therefore, the research to set up restructuring cropping systems to serve rural development programs is being conducted to aim at obtaining a new crop structure in Thanh Hoa city, towards the goods production-orientation, to increase income for producers and for sustainable development. The research results have identified new crop varieties: HT6 rice, soybean DT26 and a new crop structure. The production area consists of 6,617 hectares of arable land divided into the following patterns: Riverside soils: 240 ha, including 3 crop systems: 1. Spring Maize-Winter maize (204 ha); 2. Vegetables-Winter maize (25 ha), 3. Maize-Winter flowers (11 ha); High field soils (along outside the dike): 982 ha, including four formulas: 1. Flower intensification soil: 236 hectares; 2. Vegetables: 455 hectares; 3. Tobaco + vegetables: 33 ha and 4. Grasses + shading plants. The new crop structures have created the profits of 398.018 million VND/ha/year, which was 197.663 million VND/ha/year higher than the profits from the old crop structure; making more jobs for farmers; assuring social stability and protecting the ecological environment.
