The model of safety rice production towards bio-organic was done on 61,25 ha in three seasons of WS2012, DS2012-2013 and WS2013 in Chau Dien commune, Cau Ke district, Tra Vinh province. The results showed that the use of high-quality rice varieties such as OM5451, OM6976 and OM8017; the application of technical advances in rice cultivation, especially the plant need responed fertilization of Site Specific Nutrient Management (SSNM) and additional application of bio-organic fertilizer (250 kg/ha); pest control in conjunction with IPM and using of bio-pesticides have proven the sustainable performance through the harmony of economic and environmental interests. Besides increasing the grain yield and improvement the quality of milled rice, the model also got the safety and VietGAP standards without residual pesticides and toxic metals in the products. Economic efficiency achieved from 12.2 to 13.6% of cost reduction. The increased profit of the safety rice production model was higher than those of the traditional techniques of farmers from 3.0 to 3.2 million /ha (21.4 - 30.5%). Recently, this model has developed in " Small farmers, large fields” Scheme of Tra Vinh.
