Resistance screening of some robusta coffee clones to Pratylenchus coffeae
Applying resistance varieties to control crop pests is a valuable IPM strategy nowadays. Robusta coffee clones resistant to parasitic nematodes are also considered the best root-stock growers for grafting the trading coffee culivars which yield a high quality product. This study focus on selecting resistance of 4 robusta coffee clones (HienC1, Nhtren, 10/24 and 34/2) to Pratylenchus coffeae. Its key finding showed that 34/2 and 10/24 were two robusta clones having undetermined potentiality of resistance to P. coffeae. It is because reprodcution factor of P. coffeae in their root system was the lowest by comparing with the susceptible coffe variety (Catimor) and their roots grown very well. This research is also giving a promotion of studying on resistant mechanism to P. coffeae of 34/2 and 10/24 Robusta clones.
