KẾT QUẢ TUYỂN CHỌN GIỐNG NGÔ CHỊU BỆNH GỈ SẮT (Puccinia sp) NĂNG SUẤT CAO Ở VÙNG ĐÔNG NAM BỘ VÀ TÂY NGUYÊN

Southeast and Central Highland are two large maize growing zones with suitable natural conditions for high yielding maize hybrids. However, main constraint for grain yield of maize in this area is rust disease by Puccina sp. Through evaluation of 109 crossing combinations resulted from 30 inbred lines in the Maize Research Institute of Vietnam, over 3 years and 4 ecological zones with high rate of rust infection. Results showed that two hybrids, F449 and F600 are tolerant to rust (score of 1-2), stable high yield (9 tones per hectare). These are promising maize hybrids for production and are under large testing network and demonstrations in farmer field.
