KẾT QUẢ NGHIÊN CỨU TUYỂN CHỌN VÀ PHÁT TRIỂN GIỐNG LÚA CHẤT LƯỢNG CAO CHO TỈNH THỪA THIÊN HUẾ NĂM 2009- 2011

Some aromatic rice varieties grown in Thua Thien Hue account for 16-17% of the total of rice cultivation area of 53,000 ha, among which HT1-the major variety-has not met the requirement of rice production. Therefore, after having collected 14 varieties, we selected 2 promising varieties of TL6 and HT9, the yields of which were significantly higher than those of HT1. TL6 and HT9 have the short growth duration of 125 and 110 days, the yields of which are 6.4-6.6 and 5.7-6.0 tons/ha in Spring crop and Summer-Autumn crop respectively; however they are highly susceptible to ear blast disease. Transplanting rice seedlings of 4-4.5 leaf stage at the density of 49 hills/m2 and applying fertilizers at the rate of 100-120 N+90P2O5+90 K2O are found to be the best way for giving the highest yield and economic effectiveness. To help improve farmers’ income, TL6 and HT9 can be suitable for commercial rice production in Thua Thien Hue.
