KẾT QUẢ NGHIÊN CỨU TUYỂN CHỌN GIỐNG LÚA ĐẶC SẢN CHO TỈNH THỪA THIÊN HUẾ NĂM 2009-2011

Some traditional rice varieties grown in Thua Thien Hue cover about 500 ha in upland areas, among which Trui, Ra Du, A Dao, Loc are commonly cultivated in the sloping land, but they have given the low yields of 1.4-1.8 tons/ha. Hence, after having collected 11 upland rice varieties of specialty, we selected 2 promising varieties of Ra Du and Loc, the yields of which were the highest, especially Ra Du was of the best quality. They are the photosensible varieties which have the long growth duration of 180 days, tolerance to drought and the yield of 2.9 tons/ha /crop in a year with its time of flowering stage about early October. Direct sowing time under drilling method in April, planting rice plant in density of 36 hills/m2 and applying fertilizers at the rate of 60N:80P2O5:80K2O are found to be the best way for giving the highest yield and economic effectiveness. Ra Du is the promising variety in commercial rice production in the mountainous areas in Thua Thien Hue to contribute to the improvement of farmers’ income and to conservation of specialty rice variety and local minority groups’ culture as well.
