LTH134, selected from imported varieties, is the cultivar of short growth duration, 95-100 days in autumn crop, 120 -125 days in spring crop, suitable for cultivation in provinces of the North, the Central and the Western Highlands. LTH134 is appropriately suitable for sowing in late spring, early autumn crops (in the North), winter - spring and Summer- autumn crops in provinces of the Southern Central and the Western Highlands on low lying soils, upland soils with rotational crop structure of 3-4 crops/year, particularly suitable for rotational farming structure for early winter crops in the Red River Delta. LTH134 rice variety is moderately resistant to pests and diseases, mildly infected to leaf blight; hard stem and better cold tolerance than BT7. LTH134 has good quality rice, soft cooked rice, as delicious as BT7. In 2012-2013, the total testing area of LTH134 in the Northern provinces was 690.1 ha, the yield in the trials ranged from 49.9 to 67.4 quintals/ha. In all testing sites, LTH134 achieved higher yield than the control BT7 and equivalent to HT1.
