KẾT QUẢ CHỌN TẠO VÀ KHẢO NGHIỆM GIỐNG NGÔ VN636

Giống ngô lai đơn VN636 do Viện Nghiên cứu Ngô lai tạo, phát triển từ tổ hợp lai H18˟ H29, trong đó, dòng mẹ H18 được rút dòng từ giống lai NK67 theo phương pháp tự thụ kết hợp với full-sib; dòng bố H29 được rút dòng từ tổ hợp lai 30Y87 theo phương pháp tự thụ truyền thống. VN636 có thời gian sinh trưởng thuộc nhóm chín trung bình sớm (95 - 105 ngày), dạng cây khỏe, bộ lá xanh bền, có khả năng thâm canh cao, chịu hạn, chịu bệnh gỉ sắt tốt, nhiễm nhẹ khô vằn cháy lá. VN636 có dạng bắp to dài, kết hạt tốt, hạt dạng đá, màu vàng cam rất phù hợp với thị hiếu người tiêu dùng, tiềm năng năng suất đạt 8 - 11 tấn/ha, khả năng thích ứng rộng, đặc biệt phù hợp với sinh thái vùng Trung du và miền núi phía Bắc.
 

New maize hybrid VN636 was released by the National Maize Research Institute from crossed combination H18 ˟ H29, in which the H18 line was developed from NK67 variety by combining full-sib and selfing method and H29 was created from crossed combination 30Y87 by selfing method. Results of breeding and testing showed that VN636 was the medium early maturing maize hybrid (95 to 105 days), had strong stems, durable green leaf, drought tolerance, leaf spot diseases. VN636 had some excellent characteristics such as big and well-filled ear; the orange kernel color was suitable with customer’s demand and wildly adapted; specially, this variety was adapted to Northern midlands and mountain regions of Vietnam. The potential yield of VN636 was high and could reach 8 - 11 tons per hectare.
