Result of breeding new peanut variety LDH.01
LDH.01, a new peanut selected by Agricultural Science Institute for Southern Coastal Central of Viet Nam from a natural mutation of Ly peanut, a local variety, has the shape belonging to be halfstraight, light blue leaf, average peanut-waist, sinew of peanut pod being unclear, thin pod, average size, the rate of 3-seed peanut being 40%. The growth and development duration is from 86 to 96 days depending on seasonal and ecological condition. Average yield of LDH.01 in different experimental sites: in Western mountain is 36,1 quintal/ha, in alluvial soil and Coastal sandy soil (Southern Coastal Central) is 28,5 quintal/ha. Selecting a suitable variety that overcomes above obstacles and difficulties is not only making peanut varieties more abundant but also a target of impendent production requirements.
